This year for Thanksgiving, we were supposed to spend it with Justin's family. However, Justin didn't finish his rotation until the day before Thanksgiving and had to fly to SLC on Thanksgiving. So we made plans to drive the next day to Phoenix and spend a few days with the Hookers.
I'm pretty lame and didn't take many pictures, but we enjoyed getting family pictures taken, going to breakfast, swimming in the pool (yes it was that hot in November), and going to a park.
We even got our pictures taken with Santa!
On the way home, we took an unplanned detour to the Grand Canyon. None of us had ever been there before. Even though it added a couple hours onto our trip it was so worth it. We didn't stop at the main area, but saw the southeast section of it, I think...
A picture of the watchtower.
Happy to be out of the car!
The view was breathtaking.
And the sun was killer-it was soooo bright!
My happy, blue-eyed baby!
We climbed to the top of the watchtower, which was quite the climb.
This was just the beginning.
Really cool artwork lined the ceiling and walls inside.
Working our way up.
The view from the top.
The rooftop view.
I'm so glad we stopped, next time I want to go to a different section of the Grand Canyon and see more. It was really cool. When we were done we hopped back in the car to drive the rest of the way home.
We do silly things on road trips to keep ourselves entertained! It was a fun trip we loved seeing the Hookers!
