Our Easter festivities began the weekend before when we went to Macey's Easter Egg "Hunt."
It clearly wasn't much of a hunt but rather a gathering of eggs.
When the kids saw the parking lot covered in eggs and treats, their eyes lit up. After a few minutes of waiting the whistle blew and it was utter CHAOS! It only took 30 seconds to clear the ground of all eggs.
Kobe and Lily got a good haul.
Jaxon, on the other hand, picked up one egg and was satisfied.
Afterwards, we went inside Macey's and took a picture with the Easter bunny.
We always save Easter Sunday to focus on our Savior and His Resurrection, the true reason for celebrating this holiday. The silly, fun Easter bunny traditions happen on Friday and Saturday.
Friday we dyed eggs.
Side note: When we were at Macey's the week before there was free face painting, however the line was soooo long. Of course, the kids wanted to wait, but Justin and I just wanted to go home. Justin out of desperation told the kids that if we could just go home he would paint their faces at home. I looked at him like that was crazy and thought it was an empty promise, but he did it. Justin painted their faces when we got home and several more times throughout the week. Which explains the painted faces in these pictures.
Saturday morning the kids had to search for the baskets the silly bunny had hid for them.
Kobe found his tucked up under the pool table on a hidden shelf above the leg of the table.
Lily's was hidden in the entertainment center.
And Jaxon's was under the end table.
Next they had to hunt for all the decorated eggs.
Sure hope they found them all!
Easter lunch and the cousin egg hunt was at my mom's house.
This is the adorable veggie tray I saw on Pinterest and copied, turned out so great!
After lunch the kids were ready to go!
As you can see, Justin pulled out the face paints again for the party and painted all the kids' faces, so fun!
We really enjoyed being able to join in the family traditions this year, Easter is one of my favorite holidays!
