Jaxon's 1st Birthday

Someone please tell me how they grow up so fast? This past year has gone by at lightening speed, and we have all loved watching Jaxon grow and form his own personality. For his birthday, the whole family worked together to make it a special day.

Kobe and Justin made him a special pirate-themed sign to go above his highchair.

Justin got up with the kids on Saturday and took this picture of Jaxon as he saw the decorations:
He was enamored! He LOVES balloons!

 ARRRGH! Pirate Jaxon getting breakfast.

After a morning nap and playtime with cousins, we went swimming.

Jaxon is like our other kids and loves the water. I would try to hold onto his hand as he walked around in the shallow water but he would shake me away and try to walk on his own. He kept losing his balance and would faceplant into the water. He never even cried when he would go under. After a while I got tired of chasing him around and keeping him from drowning :)

Daddy and the birthday boy

While dinner was cooking Jaxon got to open his first present. A ball pit from Grandpa and Grandma Hooker.  What a fun toy! He loves climbing into it and throwing the balls out and in.

Dinner
For dinner we had chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and green beans- YUM! He loved it all, especially the green beans, crazy boy!

After dinner he opened presents.
Kobe gave him a car.

After opening his first present, he got bored and wondered off to find the cord drawer. Lily had to chase him down to give him the stuffed monster she picked out for him.

To keep him from running off, I put him on my lap for the rest of the presents.
Opening bath toys.

Books from Grandma Great Hooker

A Little People Pirate ship from Mom and Dad

Kobe and Lily were banned to the couch to watch him open the rest of his presents because they were being too "helpful."

A piggy bank with some balloons and money from Grandma and Grandpa Hubbard. It was perfect for holding the money he got from Gma and Gpa great Moe, Gma Great Lewis, and Gma and Gpa Great Hubbard!

The best part of the 1st birthday is THE CAKE!
Before!

Jaxon dug right in and loved it! I'm pretty sure he thought it was the tastiest thing he'd ever eaten!

Kobe and Lily even got a taste of Jaxon's cake when Justin smashed their faces into it.

After getting all cleaned up!

The next day, Sunday, the extended family came over for a joint party for Jaxon and his cousin Tayslie.
We had some yummy cupcakes!

And Jaxon was spoiled with more presents!

It was quite the party!

Fun facts about 1year old Jaxon:
  • He loves to chase balls
  • He is so loud. He screams and laughs and talks all the time!
  • He likes most foods he tries, but especially likes noodles, milk, fruit and green beans.
  • He loves Kobe and Lily!
  • He still likes to be held and cuddled.
  • His favorite activity is emptying the cupboards and drawers in Grandma's kitchen.
  • He is in the 60th% for height and 25th% for weight.
Jaxon makes us smile every day. He is a very happy baby, and makes everyone around him happy just by giving them a smile! We can't imagine life without him!

What a fun birthday! I better not let my kids see this post or they'll expect more out of me! You're such a fun mom - I miss you!
