The end of January we were looking to buy a second vehicle and we were just about to stop looking for a few months when we found a van listed in Utah. We asked my parents to look at it. They said it was a great vehicle and it was in our price and mileage range so we bought it and had my mom and dad do all the grunt work. Mean, I know! We were excited to have a 2nd car, but even more excited to have Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit--how else would we get the van here? Plus that sounded like a much better plan than Justin flying out to Utah by himself to drive the van back. It wouldn't have been fair for him to see everyone and not me! Although it was a very quick trip, we LOVED having my parents here.
They drove all day Friday, got in late that night. Saturday we played! Kobe and Lilian were in heaven all morning playing games and reading books with Gma and Gpa. I think they read "Horton Hatches an Egg" at least a hundred times. We also went to the library and Walmart. That afternoon, after nap, we went to a library in West Des Moines to see a model train exhibit. It was so fascinating to see the little trains and the entire scene put together with tiny people, houses and trees.
We couldn't stay to look at the trains for very long because we didn't want to miss our movie. We went to Jordan Creek Town Center (a really giant mall) and watched Tangled--such a cute movie! After we walked around the mall a little.
On Sunday my parents came to church with us and that night we played games after the kids went down for an early bedtime. Monday they had to leave-BooHoo!
We all hung out that morning and Lily wanted her hair done just like Grandma's.
And we had to get one picture together before Gma and Gpa left.
When we dropped them off at the airport, Kobe, Lily and I (Justin was at school by then) were sooooo sad. The whole way home Kobe talked about how much he would miss them and asking when we would see them again. Two and a half days just isn't enough! But we had a great time and really appreciated them coming to see us and bring us our new van.
