I had wanted to go camping before Justin started school again, but after some discussion we both agreed it would be a lot of work and we just wanted to take it easy and relax a little after being so busy all summer. However, there were still some places we wanted to visit if the weather would cooperate. It rained a lot, but one day when the sun decided to shine we spent a morning at Ahquabi Lake, a state park about 25 minutes from our house. When we got there around 10 am there was no one else there. We had the lake to ourselves for 2 hours before people started getting there. We had a lot of fun spending the morning in the water and enjoying the beautiful peaceful view. When it did finally start to get crowded, we packed up our stuff and headed home for naptime.
It was a pretty small lake, but really quiet and a pretty view.
Nothing like swimming in nice, brown lake water :) The water looked pretty dirty, but of course the kids don't care. The worst for me is when you're walking through the cool water and all of a sudden you walk into a warm area. For some reason that always grosses me out!
This picture is precious!
Justin played with the kids for a while so I could lay out and read a little bit, which is my favorite thing about swimming!
So much fun! I was glad the rain stopped for a day so we could play in the sand, water, and sun!

THANK goodness, you updated with your blog, Brynlee has to look at pictures of "Tobe and lilly" at least once a day, and this time they were in water, so that excited her even more. Miss you guys!
